I called Charlottesville Pavilion again on Friday to find out if they'd gotten their show info yet.
"Cameras are allowed, yes."
"Fantastic!"
"As long as they aren't professional."
"Uh... define professional."
"Any regular handheld consumer camera is fine; just nothing with a detachable or zoom lens."
I wouldn't consider my Nikon D50 "professional" (I think "prosumer" is what they call it), but it does have a detachable lens. After trying to explain that mine really was just a regular digital-SLR camera and that the lens was small and not at all professional, and getting absolutely nowhere, I decided to cover all my bases.
The nice thing about detachable lenses is that they're... well, detachable. Trying to conceal something the size of a soup can wasn't easy, but it was a hell of a lot easier than concealing the entire camera (which would probably have been impossible). And just in case that didn't work, I brought along a Sony Cybershot that WAS Pavilion-approved. Luckily, I got both parts of the Nikon inside with no trouble whatsoever, thanks to the old guy at the entrance who hadn't the first clue how to tell when a camera is very obviously missing a big lens attachment. :D
I wasn't in the very first row, but I was fairly close to the stage, all things considered. However, 1) the lighting just wasn't good for pictures, and 2) YOU try getting Wilco to stand still for a second! So... I spent this morning weeding through the 100+ photos I took, getting rid of the blurry ones, trying to narrow it down to the ones that came out the best. And, it's going to take me a little while to get through them all, so until then, have a setlist. lol

Note to self: Some type of paper product would have been a good idea. Idiot.
No making fun of my scribbles, either - it was DARK, dammit, and all I had was a thin-tip permanent marker. And yes, I will actually decode all that and type it up for the proper concert post, so just sit tight. ;p

That's freaking brilliant!
I can see 'Misunderstood", "Outtasite, Outtamind", "Jesus etc."...and that's enough for me!
I can't wait for more :)
Pictures are finally done. Now, I'm wading through audio. After that, all I have left to do is the writeup... which will be lengthy, no doubt... but, I'm workin' on it. :)
